  • Artichoke leaf extract contains compounds known as cynarins, which have been studied for their potential benefits in supporting digestion and liver health. Cynarins are believed to stimulate bile production, aiding in the digestion of fats. They may also have antioxidant properties that help protect liver cells from oxidative stress. Additionally, artichoke leaf extract has been investigated for its potential role in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.*

    Ascophyllum nodosum is a type of brown seaweed rich in various minerals, including iodine, iron, calcium, and magnesium. These minerals are essential for a wide range of physiological processes in the body. Iodine, for example, is crucial for proper thyroid function, while iron supports oxygen transport in the blood. 150mcg of iodine is the recommended adult dosage (1). The antioxidants present in seaweed, such as fucoxanthin, may contribute to its potential health benefits by neutralizing harmful free radicals.*

    Barley leaf powder is a nutrient-dense source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It contains essential vitamins like vitamin A, which supports vision and immune function, and vitamin K, important for bone health and blood clotting. The alkalizing properties of barley may help balance the body's pH levels, promoting an environment conducive to optimal health.*

    Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable known for its high content of sulforaphane, a compound with potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Sulforaphane is believed to support the body's detoxification processes and promote overall cellular health. Broccoli also contains essential nutrients like vitamins C and K, as well as dietary fiber, contributing to its potential health benefits.*

    Broccoli sprouts contain one of the highest concentrations of sulforaphane, an anti-cancer compound. Sulforaphane has potent antioxidant (1), anti-inflammatory, immune system boosting (2) and life extension effects. 100g of fresh sprouts has been shown effective in studies so we included this amount in powdered form.*

    Chlorella is a freshwater green algae that is often praised for its nutritional content. The cracked cell wall chlorella powder used in our formula has undergone a process that makes its nutrients more accessible to your body. Chlorella is rich in vitamins and minerals, most importantly Iron and Vitmain B12. It's also known for its potential role in heavy metal detoxification due to its ability to bind to toxins.*

    Collards are leafy greens rich in vitamin K, a crucial nutrient for blood clotting and bone health. They also contain antioxidants like beta-carotene and vitamin C, which support cell protection against oxidative stress. Collards are a good source of dietary fiber and provide a range of vitamins and minerals that contribute to overall well-being. We included enough collards as part of our Greens blend to get you more than 4 servings of leafy greens in each scoop.*

    Caffeine is a powerful molecule that can be used to improve physical strength and endurance and as a nootropic, increasing alertness and brain power. 70mg is just enough to gain the benefits, but low enough that you can still enjoy your favorite caffeine drink in the morning. We combine it with L-Theanine to eliminate the jitteriness and anxiety some feel with caffeine.*

    Kale is a nutrient powerhouse, boasting an array of vitamins such as A, C, and K. Its high antioxidant content, including flavonoids and carotenoids, contributes to potential anti-inflammatory effects. Kale is also a source of dietary fiber and minerals, making it a versatile ingredient that supports various aspects of health. We’ve included enough Kale as part of our Greens blend to give you more than 4 servings of leafy greens in each scoop.*

    Spinach is dense in nutrients such as Vitamins A, C and K as well as minerals like iron and calcium. It also contains nitrates, which can promote cardiovascular health and exercise performance by improving blood flow and oxygen delivery, and antioxidants that contribute to its potential cell-protective effects. If it works for Popeye it works for us. We included enough as part of our Greens blend to get you more than 4 servings of leafy greens in each scoop.*

    Spinach (900mg)

    Spirulina is a non-toxic blue green algae that is dense in many nutrients and is often used as a rich source of protein and iron. It provides potent anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects through its active ingredient phycocyanobilin (1). Evidence also suggests a general improvement in lipid panels (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) (2), blood pressure reduction, liver health and enzymes, and potentially appetite regulation, weight loss, prevention of allergies, and improved athletic performance (3). Studies suggest 1000mg as the minimum effective dose (4).*

    Spirulina (1,000mg)

    Wheatgrass is the young leaf of the wheat plant and is considered a nutrient-dense superfood due to its rich content of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and chlorophyll. It contains vitamins A, C and E, and minerals like iron, calcium and magnesium. Chlorophyll, the green pigment in plants, may add further health benefits.*

  • Acerola fruit contains 50-100 times the Vitamin C content of an orange (1). Vitamin C is an essential vitamin that acts as an antioxidant and is important for immune system function (2). The WHO suggests a minimum of 75mg of Vitamin C for women and 95mg for men (3). We included enough Acerola to get you ~100mg.*

    Bilberry fruit is one of the richest natural sources of anthocyanins, a potent antioxidant (1). We included it as part of our berry and fruit blend for this reason and to make sure you are getting unique nutrients from multiple sources.*

    Piperine is an active compound found in black pepper that enhances your body’s absorption of certain nutrients, including curcumin. We’ve paired 500mg of curcumin with 5mg of piperine, a study backed effective combo that is recommended up to 3x per day (1).*

    Blueberries are rich in antioxidants, most notably anthocyanin. This provides a host of benefits including cellular DNA protection, increasing cardiovascular and liver health, and preventing cognitive decline (1). Interestingly, they also have a potential benefit as a nootropic, increasing brain function and clarity.*

    Papaya, in addition to being delicious, contains high amounts of Vitamins A and C, beneficial to skin, immune system and digestive health. It is also known for its natural enzyme papain, which supports your gut health by breaking down proteins and allowing for increased absorption and gains.*

    Pineapple contains a natural enzyme, similar to papaya’s, known as bromelain. Bromelain helps you break down proteins you’ve eaten and is both safe for you and remains effective after ingestion (1). It has many therapeutic uses, but we like it most for the flavor, digestion and anti-inflammatory benefits.*

  • Ashwaganda, often called the King of Ayurvedic herbs, is an adaptogenic herb known for its potential to relieve stress and support the immune system. Withanolides are the active compound in Ashwaganda and are mainly responsible for these benefits. They are believed to smooth the body’s stress response, promote a sense of calm, and enhance overall well-being. Studies have suggested 120mg as a minimum effective dose (1) (2).*

    Astragalus root extract is a concentrated form of Astragalus membranaceus, an herb used in traditional Chinese medicine. It contains many bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides, flavonoids, and saponins, and is believed to have anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective and anti-aging effects.*

    Burdock root is a staple in traditional Chinese medicine and has been used therapeutically in Europe, North America and Asia for hundreds of years. Bioactive compounds in the root have been found to "detoxify" blood and promote circulation to the skin, improving the skin quality, texture and treating skin diseases like eczema (1). The 4:1 extract means you get the equivalent of 4 times the amount in a smaller dose, efficient.*

    Dandelion root is a common salad green eaten around the world and is believed to have a protective effect on the pancreas, support liver health and function and is a good source of natural potassium. The 4:1 extract means you get the equivalent of 4 times the amount in a smaller dose.*

    Eleuthero, also known as Siberian ginseng, is an adaptogenic herb known for its potential to increase your ability to adapt to stress and increase work capacity during difficult aerobic activity. Eleutherosides are the bioactive compounds in Eleuthero root. A minimum effective dose of 300mg has been suggested, so we included the equivalent of 350mg (1).

    Ginger is well known for its potential digestive and anti-inflammatory benefits. Gingerol, the active compound in ginger, has a host of additional potential benefits including anti-cancer and anti-oxidant properties (1). Although currently lacking in clinical trials, this has us excited and had to be included.*

    Rhodiola rosea is an adaptogenic herb known for its potential to help you reduce stress and fatigue and increase mental performance while under stressful conditions. Rhodiola is a fascinating herb with a number of other potential effects including antidepressant, anti-aging, and improvement in exercise performance. 50mg has been used as a daily preventative against stress and fatigue (1), so we included the equivalent in our concentrated extract.*

    Curcumin is a bioactive compound in turmeric (which you might know from eating curry) and has potent anti-inflammatory properties. There is some evidence that it can also help with certain conditions ranging from chronic pain to depression. When taken on its own curcumin is poorly absorbed but, interestingly, when taken with piperine (an extract of black pepper) this is fixed. We’ve paired 500mg of curcumin with 5mg of piperine, a study backed effective combo that is recommended up to 3x per day (1).*

    Reishi is a mushroom frequently used in traditional Chinese medicine and is a potent immune system regulator, promising anti-cancer agent and stress reducer (1). The extract we use is many times more potent than a standard extract or raw mushrooms, 5mg is equal to about ½ cup of raw mushroom (2).*

  • Cocoa flavanols are bioactive components taken from the cocoa bean we all know and love. Cocoa is particularly high in the flavanol epicatechin which increases blood flow, oxygenation in the brain, and your body’s production of nitric oxide. Studies suggest an effective dose of 500mg (12).*

    Grape seeds contain a potent antioxidant known as oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). These appear to benefit cardiovascular health, enhance blood flow, and may have anti-estrogenic effects in men. Studies suggest a minimum effective dose of 150 mg (1).*

    Milk thistle seed contains a bioactive compound called Silymarin. It is a complex mixture of plant compounds that has antioxidant properties and most importantly appears to benefit liver health and detoxification (1). Interestingly, it has also shown promise in increasing the effectiveness of chemotherapy while protecting normal, healthy cells (2).*

  • Boron is a trace mineral that helps the human body in many ways, including growth and maintenance of bone, improving wound healing, boosting absorption of magnesium (see Magnesium), preventing Vitamin D deficiency, raising testosterone and estrogen to healthy levels, and more (1). Studies saw limited effect in these areas below 3mg of boron, so we included 5mg (2).*

    Vitamin D3 is essential for a healthy immune system, raising mood, fighting depression and bone health. Your body makes Vitamin D when exposed to healthy levels of sunlight (which we strongly recommend) but it is estimated that 41% of the population does not get enough (1). 1000-2000IU of D3 is enough to meet the needs of most people (2).*

    Vitamin K is an essential vitamin that improves bone health, supports proper blood clotting, and may reduce calcium buildup and stiffening of the arteries. It is difficult to get the right amount of K2 from food (Natto, a sticky fermented soybean, and eel are the highest providing foods). Vitamin K2 and D3 provide similar benefits and may increase the effects of each other when both are taken. 90mcg is the minimum effective dose (1).*

    Creatine is one of the effective and well studied naturally occuring supplements in the world. It helps with production of ATP, which is the fuel source of your body's cells. It increases strength and power output during exercise, so you can get more out of your workouts (123). It may also have powerful effects on cognitive functions like memory and focus, as it helps produce fuel for your brain’s neurons. Creatine is high in meat and fish, you get 1-3 grams per pound. A 180 pound person should take ~2.5g per day so we included 2g so you get the full benefits along with a healthy diet (4).*

    Vitamin E is a compound that acts as an antioxidant in the body. It helps bolster the immune system and may help protect against age related cognitive decline. 25IU is likely the minimum effective dose, but slightly higher amounts may further strengthen the immune system (1).*

    Magnesium is a vital mineral and is required for energy production, muscle and nerve function, glucose metabolism, protein synthesis, cardiovascular function and more. It is estimated that 50% of the US population does not get enough magnesium (1). There are many different forms of magnesium, but we picked citrate because it is the best absorbed by the body and least likely to cause gut distress (2). The recommended daily intake is 300-420mg. We included 95mg to get you a nice head start, in addition to diet and our other ingredients.*

    Inulin is a type of soluble fiber known as a prebiotic. Prebiotics serve as food for beneficial gut bacteria, promoting gut health and potentially supporting digestion. Inulin also gives our powder a great consistency and makes it more enjoyable.*

  • Your gut contains a diverse and large population of about 100 trillion bacteria. The health of your gut has a direct effect on your body's health, mood, immunity, and your brain, often called the gut-brain connection. There are many ways to improve your gut health, one being supplementation with probiotics. These are small amounts of different bacteria that are already present in your body. We included them to make sure you are getting a full spectrum supplement, feeling great, and absorbing all the nutrients you take in.

    Enzymes are a class of molecules that help or speed up various chemical reactions in living organisms. We included a few digestive enzymes which break down various macro and micronutrients, helping you digest and absorb the most nutrients out of our product and your food. Cellulase helps break down the cellulose found in plant walls, amylase helps digest carbohydrates, and lipase helps you digest fats.
